| Hiya, these little beetles were congregating on the flowers of the tea tree ... their size can be guaged by the flower size I think ... their movement was disconcerting .. they moved more like spiders than beetles .. and don't ask me to explain why i thought that because I cannot. they did drop as soon as i got to close or bumped the branch they were on, but it wasn't the isntant drop of say, the chrysomelids or other ... they seemed to roll over "off" the female and at first I thought it was simply a function of their mating positions .. but the females seemed to do the same ... anyhow that's it ... they are new to me ... her in the south east of sa. jj |
